Our girls participated in our Stakes Fashion show. Several girls helped with the preparations to help pass off a Personal Progress project. We met at 4pm, to enjoy a light dinner with their mothers and watch their fashion show and learn about modesty. We then went into the chapel and watched the YW broadcast...Wow, what an evening!!!

Our darling girls got together at the Bott's house for an evening of nail-painting-to prepare for the up-coming Fashion Show on Sat. I love seeing them take care of each other!

Hooray!!! Our coach Stephanie has returned and we celebrated another win against LV/6th! (39-19) A good coach does make a difference:) Congratulations girls! You rock!

We missed you Stephanie!!! The game wasn't the same without you:) We lost to 19th ward...23-31:( Yeah Brooklyn, Hayle, Meranda, Ryleigh, Brinlei, Teesa, and Tiffanee!!!!! Better luck next week:) Kim did an awesome job being a referee for the first time!!!!

YM & YW Unlucky Dinner

Our Miamaids hosted a wonderful Unlucky Dinner tonight. We each had to choose 7 St. Patrick Day items which were on a menu-each coincided with a part of a taco. Some had the taco with a shell, or plate, others ended up with a plate with no shell , or no meat etc. We then played a balloon stomp game-your fortune was on a slip of paper inside the balloon. We also sung Happy Birthday to Bro. Spencer!

Our first basketball game of the season! We won!!! Our fearless leader Stephanie Gilbert, led the girls to successful night! Go girls!!!!

Bishop's night-hanging vinyl lettering :)

Laurels had a Bishops night, where we spend an activity with the Bishop. We chose to hang vinyl lettering on the Young Womens walls. We added all the values and the theme scripture for the year.

Saying good-bye to our YW Secretary:(

Our YW Secretary has just bought a home in the Mountain View Ward, so she is leaving our our Young Women. We are so sad to see her leave us....but we are excited for her next adventures and for her new place:) Jill our laurel president and I went to see her on Tuesday and gave her a house warming gift, a pillow blanket. I am so thankful for Jills willingness to share-especially her time, and talents!!!!! We stayed a played flash uno with Sunshine and her son:) What a fun evening!!!

Laurel/Priest activity for February was a murder mystery.... We each had a different character, each had a prop and a script in front of us. We then asked questions of each other and tried to put the real story together! All were good sports and enjoyed the activity.

We held our New Beginnings on Feb 2, 2010, ground hogs day. We took our idea from the movie "Ground Hog Day". We wanted the girls to feel the difference of feeling the spirit vs. not being to feel the spirit in the room. We repeated the first part of the program 3 times-getting better each time. Sis. Dallon conducted and was able to keep a straight face! Sis. Bott gave the first talk 3 times-introducing the new yw Personal Progress books and awards. They've added a new medallion, book marker with value colors, and a bee charm. We then had a talk on the importance of repeating so many things in our lives...ie the sacrament. Heavenly Father has a plan that will enable us to "do over" so many things while we are here on earth on our journey to perfection. Repentance, plays a big part in that:)
We also introduced the three new girls coming into YW this year, Lisa Woodland, Ariel Scherry and Kayla Carbaugh.
Our Stake leaders, Sis. Whiting and Sis Perry were able to come join us! Thank-you for all your support!!!
